CT600 Advanced Coating Thickness Gauge
The CT600 is an advanced Fe/nFe coating thickness gauge which can perform non destructive measurement of DFT on both ferrous and non ferrous substrates. The CT600 will perform measurement of coating thickness on all metal types.
The CT600 utilises electromagnetic induction principle for thickness measurement of non-magnetic coatings on ferrous substrates such as steel and eddy current for non con-conductive coatings on non- ferrous substrates such as aluminium. Most common uses includes measuring thickness of paint, chrome , powder coating or galvanised layer on iron and steel. Similarly, measuring thickness of paint or anodize coating over aluminium, stainless steel and copper.
The CT600 is offered in three models:
1. CT600 based on internal probe, with measuring range of 0 ~2000um.
2. CT600E based on an external probe design , with measuring range of 0 ~2000um.
3. CT600XE with extended range based on external probe, with measuring range of 0 ~5000um.
Why Measurement of DFT (Dry Film Thickness ) is Important
Coating on metal is done to ensure protection against corrossion. Also low quality coating results in nicks and erosion. Coating thickness inspection or Dry film thickness (DFT) is necessary if not mandatory for checking quality during application and inspection of protective coatings.
