BOU350 Optical Laser Source

BOU350 Optical Laser Source is an entry level highly stabilized Optical Laser Source with option to configure 2~3 wavelengths output from one port and a built-in optic isolator.

BOU350 Optical Laser Source also provides 270Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz modulation output. Available in multimode and single mode options.

BOU350 Optical laser source can be configured to have operating multi wavelengths options of 850nm, 1310nm, 1310nm, 1490nm, 1550nm and 1625nm.

BOU350 Optical laser source is an economy Optical laser source compatible with FC (& SC) adaptor connectors.

what is optical laser source

optical laser source is an optical signal transmitter that is used to transmit a signal with specific selected wavelength and power level into a fiber optic link. Together with the optical power meter, it can measure the optical loss or attenuation of the network link.

what is diffrence b/w single mode and multimode

Multimode fiber has a relatively large light carrying core,
usually 62.5 microns or larger in diameter. It is usually used for short distance transmissions with LED based fiber optic equipment. Single-mode fiber has a small light carrying core of 8 to 10 microns in diameter. It is normally used for long distance transmissions with laser diode based fiber optic transmission equipment.

Which wavelengths are for single mode and which are to be selected for multimode

850nm / 1300nm are the designated wavelengths for multimode fiber testing. single mode fiber is usually tested at 1310/1550nm wavelengths.
