Removable Pressure Transducer
The Sisgeo Removable Pressure Transducer is designed for long-term pore-water pressure monitoring, particularly in geotechnical applications. It connects to a Casagrande filter tip, allowing easy removal for calibration checks.
The transducer is suitable for use in embankments, dams, landslides, and slope monitoring. It comes in two variants: vibrating wire and piezo-resistive technology. The unit features built-in surge protection, temperature sensors (for vibrating wire models), and high durability with stainless steel construction. It ensures reliable readings with minimal temperature drift and is resistant to environmental factors.
The Removable Pressure Transducer is ideal for use in areas prone to lightning, as it can be easily replaced for maintenance. The range of applications includes ground pore pressure measurements, landslide monitoring, and long-term environmental monitoring.
Working Principle:
The Sisgeo Removable Pressure Transducer works on the principle of measuring pore-water pressure in the ground. The device is connected to a Casagrande filter tip, which filters out solid particles and allows water to flow through. The transducer then measures the pressure exerted by the water, which is directly related to the ground's pore-water pressure.
- Piezo-resistive or Vibrating Wire Technology: The Removable Pressure Transducer is available with either piezo-resistive or vibrating wire technology. In piezo-resistive models, the pressure alters the resistance of a strain gauge, which is converted to an electrical signal. In vibrating wire models, the pressure causes a change in the frequency of vibration of a wire, and this change is measured to determine the pressure.
- Surge Protection: The transducer is equipped with built-in surge protection to safeguard against electrical interference.
- Temperature Compensation: The vibrating wire models include a built-in temperature sensor to compensate for temperature-related drift, ensuring accurate readings over time.
