Stanlay provides falling weight deflectometer (FWD) to evaluate the physical properties of pavement. FWD is primarily used to estimate pavement structural capacity for overlay design and to determine if a pavement is being overloaded. The equipment is highly recommended for highways, local roads, airport pavements .
The FWD is designed to impart a load pulse to the pavement surface which simulates the load produced by a rolling vehicle wheel. The load is produced by dropping a large weight, and transmitted to the pavement through a circular load plate .
The PaveFWD / PaveHWD is necessary to evaluate and calculate surface conditions such as Bearing capacity, emoduli and expected service life of roads & highways i.e specifically bitumenous surface. The equipment is based on load cells and multiple geophones - is fast and requires 28 seconds to perform a test. The equipment is available in Trailer towed or Vehicle mounted versions and is available in 75kN to 250kN options.
