The  MXL2 Precision Pipe & Cable Locating kit comprising the MXL2 Buried cable pipe locating receiver and MXT2 transmitter are high performance Multi Frequency buried cable & pipe locators developed using the latest in advanced digital signal  processing technology.

The CSCOPE MXL2 Multi frequency pipe cable locator will determine the exact position of Buried metallic pipes and cables and in addition is used for medium to long distance route tracing of telecom cables,oil & gas pipes. The MXL2 cable pipe detector can be used to detect buried utility services immediately prior to any form of excavation work taking place, day or  night. When used in conjunction with the MXT2 transmitter, the  equipment becomes a versatile pipe & cable locating system for route  tracing of underground utility services.

The MXL2 Buried Pipe & Cable Locating Kit is based on Multiple frequencies including 512Hz, 8kHz and a  Dual Combined frequency 33/131 kHz "CF"  for locating the smallest of armored telecom or optical fiber cables.

The MXL2 has 4 modes of operation P:Power, R : Radio, G : Generator and A : AllScan Mode for locating buried metallic cables and pipes. The MXL2 has automatic signal interference rejection based on an improved double antennae system with appropriate vertical separation. The MXL2 also contain a Signal Current measurement mode to differentiate between  the buried utility being route traced and other buried utility services in congested metro environments.

The equipment range makes locating really simple and combined with unique features such as Automatic Daily self test, Swing warning etc., lets the  operator work with confidence and are specifically designed to be used  by operators in ALL site conditions and in ALL working environments to  ensure position of buried pipes and cables is pinpointed before each and  every excavation.

POWER MODE

POWER MODE :

The POWER mode is the quickest way to detect most buried power cables by detecting the 50/60 Hz signal created by the electrical current itself, just using the MXL DLB pipe & cable locating receiver on a stand alone basis.

RADIO MODE :

The RADIO mode detects re-radiated "radio" type signals that are often present on metal pipes and cables, allowing their position to be determined using just the MXL DLB pipe & cable locating receiver on a stand alone basis.

GENERATOR/TRANSMITTER MODE :

The GENERATOR mode is used to detect the signal applied to a metal pipe or cable by a SGV Signal Generator. When combined with a SG-V Signal Generator & accessories, the MXL DLB Cable Avoidance Tool becomes an all around Pipe & Cable Locating & Route Tracing Package. In this mode the MXL DLB also provides Depth measurement of Buried Pipes & Cables.

ALL SCAN MODE :

Innovative All Scan mode uniquely listens for all frequencies ranging from the lowest of the 50Hz signals right up to and including 33kHz. This all in–one mode detects unusual frequency signals present on pipes and cables often overlooked in the conventional Power, Radio or Transmitter Mode. All Scan Mode can often speed up the locating process with just one scan of the site.

EASY STEP 1

EASY STEP 1 :

Method to know the orientation of the buried utility. The LCD display provides a maximum signal when over the centre of the buried utility (in a transverse position).

EASY STEP 2 :

Once located, simply turning the locator to become parallel to the buried utility reduces the located signal to a zero which is the indication of the orientation/direction of the buried utility.

GPS (Global Positioning System) If the smartphone has a GPS capability then this information can be added to the data log from the Cable Avoidance Tool, so that the THREE key elements of information about the Cable Avoidance Tools usage are recorded: WHEN it was used WHERE it was used and HOW it was used.

Adding Photos

Once the data has been transferred to a smartphone, additional information such as site photographs can be added and then the entire file can be forwarded by email or text attachment to anyone, anywhere, providing a comprehensive record of events.

Whether you wish to analyse the data on the Cable Avoidance Tool immediately e.g. after a cable strike; after general daily use; or at a later date as part of a long term review - MXL DLB Data Logging Cable Avoidance Tools use Bluetooth communication to enable the data to be transferred easily to a PC or smartphone.

In order to retrieve logged data from the Cable Avoidance Tools, simply use the free C.Scope Software Toolkit, which enables all the data to be transferred to a Windows based PC via Bluetooth Once transferred to a PC, the data can be interrogated by the C.Scope Software Toolkit to show how and when the Cable Avoidance Tool was used. The data can also be imported into a spreadsheet or your own reporting software.

MOBILE PHONE CONNECTIVITY

C.Scope has a mobile phone APP that allows the logged data to be transferred from the Cable Avoidance Tool to an Android smartphone. Once transferred to the smartphone, it can be sent to anyone via text or email. The benefit of using a smartphone for data log retrieval is that a phone is more convenient to carry and use than a bulky laptop and can allow data to be transferred 'off site' faster and more cost effectively.

SURVEYING INSTRUMENT CONNECTIVITY

C.Scope's new Data Logging Cable Avoidance Tools are compatible with major survey equipment manufacturers handheld sub-metre positioning instruments.
