Stanlay British Pendulum Skid Resistance Tester for surface friction testing on asphalt and Flooring surfaces

Posted on

The Stanlay Portable Skid Resistance Tester is utilised worldwide to determine the frictional resistance of roads, road markings and flooring material. Based on the iZod principle, the skid resistance tester provides an indication of the skid resistance value on the graduated engraved scale which corresponds to the coefficient of friction x 100. The instrument is necessary for utilisation at design stage, during maintenance & for investigation at time of accidents.

Slips, falls and accidents by skidding happen where there is too little friction or traction. In order to prevent the accidents and slips on floor, the level of slip resistance of Tiles and pavement needs to be tested. Stanlay Portable Skid Resistance Tester is a direct reading instrument that provides the measure of the friction between a skidding tyre and wet road surface.

Stanlay Portable Skid resistance tester is designed in conformance to ASTM E303 Standard and IRC 35-2015 Indian Standard. Built to exacting quality standards, the Stanlay Skid resistance tester is based on an Aluminium Composite Panel Scale with both the Main Scale and F Scale CNC Engraved, Calibrated Pendulum with  low friction arm & slider mechanism for better accuracy, Slider lifting system ,height adjustment system and  ensuring quality in every aspect.

Skid Resistance Tester is used for Roads & Highways QC testing, Runway testing, Educational and Research in the above field, testing of new road surface materials under development, testing of pedestrian walkways, terrazo/tiles and traffic accident investigations.
