The Modern & Advanced NDT Solutions for Concrete Health Monitoring workshop in Chennai brought together 70 professionals from the concrete, construction, structural engineering, and infrastructure sectors for an engaging technical knowledge-sharing and networking event.
Held on 7 August 2026 at Courtyard by Marriott Chennai, the workshop focused on the latest advancements in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), structural health monitoring, and concrete condition assessment, in association with the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) Chennai Centre.
The event featured renowned experts including Prof. Radhakrishna G. Pillai (IIT Madras), Mohan Ramanathan (Advanced Construction Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), Dr. Vivek Samu (IIT Madras), and Dr. Tronca Guido (GT Studio & Aquila Built Health AG, Italy), who shared their expertise through technical presentations and real-world case studies.
Attendees learned about the latest innovations in concrete health monitoring and NDT technologies, explored practical infrastructure case studies, gained insights into advanced evaluation techniques for reinforced concrete structures, experienced live demonstrations of state-of-the-art NDT instruments, and networked with researchers, consultants, contractors, infrastructure owners, and industry professionals.
The workshop provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange between academia and industry, showcasing how advanced NDT technologies and structural health monitoring can enhance infrastructure safety, enable predictive maintenance, and extend the service life of concrete structures.
